Southern Wind

It was winter and I had been sleeping for a very long time,

Slowly awakened by the whistling of the wind, so gentle and cold

It was whispering to me,

Something, I had been longing to hear!.

Awake I closed my eyes, I felt my life complete,

The wind was holding me in his arms

I danced along, believing he would stay.

Only it was the southern wind,

As swiftly as he came, had to leave without me.

I believed it was the most beautiful dream I had ever seen-

Dancing with the wind!

Now it hurts… it wasn’t just a dream,

Such a fool to fall in love with the Wind that never stays in one place,

He could never take me along nor could he soon come back…

But I am not the wind, I know for sure,

And I could wait till next winter for his return,

My love will be forever awake,

Even if, it’s only in my dreams.
